Join us at a UDINZ industry event to be held on Tuesday 3 March from 5.30pm which is kindly being hosted by Harrison Grierson at their Parnell head office.
We are welcoming members of the delegation from UDIA Victoria and VPELA who are here in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Monday 02/03 - Wednesday 04/03 and then travel down to Ōtautahi Christchurch for the rest of the week.
We have been helping them finalise their program of activity here and in Ōtautahi. They are undertaking a variety of site tours and also having discussions with central and local government officials on our policy settings across the motu. They were keen however to hear from those actually involved in investing in, advising on or delivering housing.
At this event there will be drinks and a panel discussion on the topic of “Infrastructure & Intensification: a marriage made in heaven?”
So often our housing plans are impacted by infrastructure constraints (whether capacity, condition or capital program -the need to fund its delivery). Intensification is often touted as the answer to efficiently improve housing outcomes AND better utilise our infrastructure investment. Is that the right solution and thinking? Join us to hear representatives of both UDINZ and the delegation debate that topic and discuss the different ways that the two jurisdictions have sought to deal with this common problem. What are the barriers to success. Might we be able to learn something from each others experiences and what has and hasn’t worked?
Join us to learn more and help us extend a warm kiwi welcome to our Trans-Tasman neighbours.
